I haven't been to Bali, will this do? The best bar in the world, apparently ! Is that were they had girlie boys Casper.? What is a girlie boy granny? I used to go to the local places of interest, and to answer your question no I never made the mistake.

I think you are just playing the ' innocence game'. Of course you knew of them if you went to Thailand. It's at least 45 yrs since I heard of them, and they weren't so glamorous as they are today, and I don't think they went on tour either. In fact today, it's nothing unusual really everyone seems to have a different identity.
