Pretty BIG event taking place.

But you wouldn't believe it with all the cars on the road. It's been getting worse for the last week, and it's almost constant now. Even the local shops said it had been mentioned by others. What's more, living on a main road, I can hear that the speed limit is NOT being adhered to. I know when a vehicle is going at 30mph and 50mph !

People might be getting bored but as per usual, follow an attitude of ' rules don't apply to me ' They should be ashamed of themselves.

Asda Bromborough has almost no social distancing apart from outside at the queue for the trolley cleaning. It is very badly planned.

I've seen mobile hairdressers visiting people.

On a plus side, Birkenhead Toolstation is doing a fantastic job and is credit to their company as they always are unlike some of their other stores.

Traffic doesn't bother me, people in cars are not breaking social distancing rules and are allowed to travel short distances for exercise, caring for others, exercising pets and shopping.

The amount of crime is concerning, groups, speeding, no insurance/MOT etc, stabbings, shootings, burglary, vandalism and ASB are around. A plus is the drug dealers are becoming more visible and Merseyside Police are doing an excellent job of picking them off.

Still? I thought the manager of Asda Bromborough had been officially spoken to about that, as it had been noted by many. Poor show. Sounds like someone's trying to put profit before people there.

No excuse for speeding. People probably think they can get away with it as the roads are quieter, but guess where they'll end up if they have an accident due to a lapse of attention or whatever...

It's hard to criticise number of cars on the road without knowing the reason for the journeys. Some will always break the rules, but a lot will be out for legitimate reasons.

I walk our dog around 6am, a week or two ago the streets were like a post apocalyptic dystopia, but now I would say it’s just about back to normal. I too have noticed an increase in speeding cars but unfortunately there is next to no chance of them being caught, and they know it. Regarding social distancing I find the worst offenders are joggers who seem to think they are exempt from sharing the joint responsibility of keeping a sensible distance apart.
You can have all the rules you like about lockdown, but without enforcement some people will just ignore them, There ‘ain’t no cure for stupid.

On Monday:-

Two members of staff brushed past me when they didn't need to, unfortunately its not the time to do a Graeme Souness on them.

Loads of customers stopping for a chat with friends, usually right in the middle of cross-roads for maximum inconvenience.

Loads of people going in as pairs, often with older bored teenagers who like to wander around aimlessly in parents vicinity, passing is a bit like Jeux sans frontières

They had changed the black one-way floor arrows to green which is better, I usually notice/remember them now but some of the staff don't and loads of customers don't bother. But when two one-way aisles head towards each other its a bit confusing - caused by unequal number of isles.

The queues for tills are in the narrowed ends of one-way isles, if you go down one of those isles but haven't finished shopping, you have a choice of breaking distancing rules or waiting in the till queue each time. They should clear one isle of all goods and have till queues there with a member of staff directing them to empty tills.

There are still plenty of places where footways are narrowed by obstructions.

The main wider central isle should have keep-right signs so people can go in both directions without yet another game of Jeux sans frontières.

Having a 400 word essay at the entrance is a bit pointless, if you stop to read it you will really piss-off the people behind you. It would be better placed by the cleaning station queue where people are waiting with nothing else to do. I started to read it once but about five people brushed past me so I still have no idea what it says..

What the heck are the multiple zig-zag barriers on the way-in supposed to do?

Certainly not noticed any significant changes over the previous weeks. The removal of one of the external cleaning stations just left more people confused as to where to queue.

Which reminds me of the young couple who decided to stop and have a five minute chat to each other at the cleaning station last week, totally oblivious to the rest of the world - or pretending to be, eventually they used the cleaning station. I suspected they were purposely baiting as it was that ridiculous.

They were only outmatched by the social chat between a person arriving and a person leaving the store, shouting over the barrier between them and stopping anyone else leaving the store.

Perhaps a no-talking and no mobile phone rule would make things a lot safer.

I went out early yesterday morning to the local shop by me, being a key worker only time i have to shop, spotted two girls standing at the end of a side road, as i walked closer i moved to my right to avoid them, as i passed them one turned around and said something, never understood a word as they were drunk or high on drugs, i stopped and turned to face them, i said in a raised voice "Get off the streets and, stay in as there are thousands of people dying in this Country!" Think it went in one ear and out the other!
Then i see other lads waiting for their dealers to turn up in the car park over the road to me!
Then yesterday we have Boris telling us, We have reached our peak, even though we are at 170,000 + confirmed and 27,000 dead and still rising! So what will people think, oh its safe to go out now then!

It’s funny that people seem to look at other people and think the worst. I went for a walk yesterday, I drove to a location with my two kids, we walked for about 45 mins and drove home. When I pulled up there was a dog walker looking at me, clearly he thought I was the most stupid person on the planet at that point...

What he doesn’t know.... my son is classed as severe on autistic spectrum, non verbal. He needs to get out and walk. The rules say that we can drive to a place as long as the drive is not longer than the walk. No rules broken, no contact with anyone else.

Meanwhile I look at a dog walker and I think to myself... what’s wrong with using a litter? What’s wrong with standing on the front of your house so your dog can do what it needs to do? Why do you feel the need to walk so far after your dog has had its dump that you are going to put in a bag and hang on the railings?

Haha it’s funny that we all look at other people questioning there credentials to be outside.

The Government are waiting for an update from SAGE in the next few days, before they can make any decisions.

I must admit, I was impressed by Keir Starmer on Wed's PMQ's. He is fully supportive of actions being taken, but he too is asking for indications to when things will be eased, although he does understand the way things need to progress prior to that.
He had a totally different attitude to Corbyn's usual conflicting confrontational qualities. Maybe life in Parliament will be less volatile in the future.

Lets hope so. Corbyn is the only reason I didn't vote Labour for the 1st time in my life.
I voted Frank by the way ; )

And that is why we ended up with Boris instead of an honest socialist, if you vote right wing you get right wing.

I see Frank has left the Wirral and scuttled back to London while still trying to interfere in our local politics.

Well the majority didn't like the "honest socialist" which I have to agree with.
Politics has never been so divisive since he become the opposition leader and I, like many others, am glad he has gone. Maybe we can get back to the Labour we all want again.

Yes I think Keir Starmer comes across as a much better leader of Labour Party. It will be interesting to watch his progress. I agree with Mikeeb on this Corbyn too much like an older Derek Hatton.

If you want a right wing party don't call it Labour, that is the first bit of dishonesty.

So we have hit 200,000 plus confirmed and over 30,000 dead as of today, and we are now looking at easing the lock down, money over lives wins again, i said it before by August it will be 60,000 + dead here, but money comes first, as for social distancing that will be here for life, get use to it, as i believe with all the money thrown into it, we won't get a vaccine, can't get one for flu, i could be wrong, but so far i haven't!
