We need more control over our MPs and the ability to force by-elections.

Fiona Onasanya has been getting paid by us as an MP while in prison.

There is a good chance she will be voting in parliament wearing an ankle tag on early release.

It is a crazy situation where someone is not allowed to be a Local Councillor because of being a criminal but they are allowed to be an MP.

There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025

Goodness knows how we could get more control over our MP's .

They are no longer supporters of the democracy we once had , or even the decency of a human being. Insults thrown in every direction, fighting, objectionable people who are mainly self serving and have no direction .
I most definitely think that any MP leaving the party they were elected to represent , on the manifesto at an election, should be forced to quit their position as MP. and a bi-election held. The whole affair could get to a ridiculous level if things might continue as they have in the last week. The same for anyone committing an offence, and particularly whilst in Office.

Quite frankly. the whole lot are appalling and it's disgraceful and worrying . Anyone with a criminal record should not be standing as MP, what sort of a message does that send out ?

I can't see myself voting again, and many are feeling the same too.. Maybe The New Brexit Party will come into it's own, as there's absolutely no other option , ...can't imagine they are all above board either.

Corbyn has been listening to too many "advisors", he should have stuck to straight policies but now he using tactical methods which the advisors will be telling him (usually incorrectly) that they will either help him get elected or help the Tories get unelected.

Its too much about winning and not enough about politics, they loose focus and then the bullying loudmouths move in as well.

The MPs and the media need to be brought under control, the first three newspaper stories I read today (non-political) were loosely based on a bit of truth and then interpreted into total BS.

One example was the complaint that children's vitamin supplements haven't got the full daily amount of Vitamin D in them .... of course they haven't, they are supplements to supplement the amount of Vitamin D they get in food and from sunlight, at this time of year we are supposed to have less Vitamin D, its the natural cycle, and they wonder why people end up with seasonal disorder!.

The media definitely need to be corrected, but I suppose as with everything else, they have to do what their bosses instruct .

Global Conglomerates !

However, the BBC is also questionable, and one wonders if that is due to the loan they acquired from the EU ? They say not, it was £114 million to the Commercial Subsidiaries of the BBC...

which are :

The BBC’s commercial subsidiaries are:
BBC Studios - the BBC’s content production, sales and distribution arm.
BBC Global News - operates the BBC’s two commercially-funded international news services: BBC World News, the 24-hour global news television channel, and the digital platform bbc.com (and its apps).
BBC Studioworks - provides studio and post production facilities and services to broadcasters and independent production companies.

I am getting sick and tired of the lot of them, democracy is a word that has little or no meaning now, often used to make political gain, both of the mainline parties have their fair share of liars and thieves, a motley crew that would be more at home in HM prison, really is this the best and brightest we have to represent us?

Don't understand DD .. is that a 'funny', or are you referring to something else like a disreputable site ?

Exactly my sentiments . It's like watching and listening to feeding time in the hen house.

One could argue that allowing criminals to represent the country is the right thing to do. They are citizens just like you and me. On what grounds are they excluded exactly?

Because we are a society and the Government is supposed to lead and guide that society, those that act against society can not be expected to be good leaders of that society.

Unless you are ultra liberal and believe a drug riddled bus stop smashing granny bashing thug would make a good local councillor?

Probably the same grounds as they are excluded from serving on a jury, what about "Sir" Jimmy Saville maybe he could have stood as children's minister, lets just say if the Devil cast his net a bit deeper there would be more revelations, no doubt being hidden by the security services.
