Anyone thinking of transferring from 'Streetlife' to 'Nextdoor' please be aware that they have your address on view for everyone to see. You cannot remove your street name! This is shown next to your actual name at the top of posts.

They claim they'll "never share your address with an external party". Its pretty spurious to claim that other registered members aren't classed as an external party. This is a breach of data protection laws. Report the site to the Information Commissioner https://ico.org.uk/concerns/

I transferred Muzzy & was horrified to see my name & full address along with some of my neighbours.I immediately cancelled & Ive noticed a good few Streetlife members doing the same. You're also asked to "invite" your neighbours to join thats an imposition to assume others would be interested or even have internet access.If theres not enough neighbours joining then that area will be excluded. That wont be a hardship !

Thanks, Granny, for sending this link. Just hope the new owners change their rules for UK members but I doubt it.
It makes me think how much we should value having Wiki now, as this must be the only local forum in the UK now.
We should be very grateful to Mark for all his hard work keeping this going!
