After a night shift of 12 hrs Id like to sleep in my bed last night
But was anyone else woken at 11 12 330am etc etc by bashin techno and a mc?? It was miles away aswell!! Surely if my house walls in wallasey can be affected behind double glazing from the alb dock miles away Its got to be illegal levels of noise!! Im tired out. 350am im sure it went LOUDER. Useless police wont do anything " its the councils job to sort noise" Yes great .....ill moan on monday mate but that doesnt help me sleep now !! Pass the parcel as usual. Surely hotels mustve had loads of complaints....

I heard it in New Ferry.
The level of sound is way above what would be tolerated in a factory.
I once worked with a pianist who played in a band. Fed up with dodgy pianos he switched to electric guitar and built himself a 100 Watt amplifier. Shortly after, he was talking about his new car and mentioned how quiet the engine was particularly at night returning from a gig. I half-jokingly suggested i was more like damage he'd done to his hearing with his amplifier. A few days after he came to me and said I'd been right. He had driven back from a friends house in the wee small hours and the car was no quieter than in the day.
From that day on, he wisely wore earplugs, despite us joking that his playing was so bad even he wore earplugs.
It isn't only pop musicians who do it. Many professional players in symphony orchestras do the same. The volume of sound in the midst of a symphony orchestra is often way above damage levels and deafness is a common problem in older players.
Personally, I have problems in restaurants where the aim seems to be to make them so noisy you have to shout to converse over the sound of others doing the same, deafening music levels and the clatter of dishes.
There seems to be a belief, almost a consensus, that enjoyment = loud noise, that and an overamplified band is essential. I've been to a few beer festivals where the band has turned an otherwise pleasant evening into a shouting contest. Time for people to realise they are neither necessary nor desirable.

I thought I was just being a moaning old sod, but apparently I'm not the only person that was kept awake by that row last night. The sound levels were ridiculous. I could hear it through my double glazing. It's not the first time they've had super loud concerts that breach sound laws and my double glazing either! Why can't they find a place away from populated areas to deafen themselves.
I agree with Excoriator about the misconception that sound = enjoyment. I remember shopping at PC World for a set of quality speakers for my PC's sound system. I asked the assistant for a good clear set and his reply was to turn the volume right up on a set until it distorted then shout to me over the din that this was a great set, listen to how loud it goes. After five unsucsessful attempts to explain I wanted clarity not volume, I asked for the manager and eventually bought a set of Harman/Kardon's

I am getting in touch with Liverpool council tomorrow to complain (for what good it will do) as you say way above acceptable levels, noise echo's over water and noise damping should have been used and tested, those responsible should be fined and banned from holding future events, irresponsible this also applies to Liverpool council, who should have inspected the venue, but more likely just heard the ring of the tills.

I thought it was one of my neighbours being a twonk. I was ready to get my shoes on and go for a walk to find out who was being the twonk but instead it seemed to just stop so i went back to bed.

I got woken up by the noise at 3.30am this morning. I also thought it was a neighbour being an ass. Totally unacceptable.

Sorry for you lot, must have been the wind direction making it worse too. As for restaurants, we invariably have to ask for the music to be turned down and often just turn round and go out if its at a silly level. Wouldnt be so bad if it was just easy listening music either, but it isnt, its sometimes heavy metal and all sorts.

I could hear it clearly in New Brighton as I went to bed at 1AM but managed to get to sleep. The venue was on the disused docks north of the Pier Head so closer to Wallasey than the Albert Dock. It was due to continue until 4AM.
I don't think it should be allowed at all but at least it should shut down after midnight.

If it was that loud on Wirral what was it like at the gig..... > Lawsuits for not providing ear protection! Some one will see a way of making damages money out of this. Go to a gig with sound meter and soon as they exceed safety limits....£££££

according to the echo there was about 10,000 people at this event But at least double that had to hear it! iirc its not that long ago that Liverpool Council promised that they would resolve the excessive carrying of sound after another concert blasted itself round the Northwest. Although I had more than my fair share of loud music in my younger days, I was never a fan of outdoor events. I'm not against them by any means but I think that houses within the potential hearing zone should be leafleted, like many others I initially assumed it was a neighbour. Its difficult to tell how loud it really was, when you hear ships horns very clearly it shows how easily sound can travel, then the fog horn was very clear earlier tonight as well.

Heard this as well - thought it was Cammell Lairds, I live on the front, up the road. Couldn't believe how loud it was, it woke me up and thought a ship exploding.
