Did anyone find out what happened? Heard on BBC travel news all Saturday that it was very serious. Ah, just found this out: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/m53-closed-more-12-hours-1209844912 hour closure, massive congestion and disruption, all due to a "man on a bridge"? Big net, tranquiliser dart, job done.

Poor bloke will be getting the tranquiliser dart in Clatterbridge. 2 big blokes will pin him down and shove needle in his bum.
In the states he would just have been tasered or shot dead---especially if black

In the States, bridges over freeways have fences to prevent this. And do not the UK Police (Authorised Firearms Officers) carry Tasers and guns (not just for decoration, presumably)?
