M53 Junction 2 to 3 closed - tail backs etc - police incident approx 1130 today

Someone been threatening to jump from the bridge by Upton station. Been there since around 6 this morning.

Just experienced these delays trying to go from bidston to sainsburys in upton. Roads closed off next to the co op at the bottom of ford hill near Noctorum.
Round the world to wood church road and then give up....

It has just taken me an hour to get from New Brighton
to Upton to rescue daughter with baby from broken
down car. Roads choked up either side of M53.

I think this incident really highlights how the M53 cuts the Wirral in half, once Upton bridge was closed Arrowe park/Woodchurch became a nightmare. I had to return home from Birkenhead via Leasowe Road.

I had to return home from Birkenhead via Leasowe Road. Don't think many roads were stopped up when they built the motorway. If anything the motorway takes a lot of traffic off the other roads
