An email from Microsoft today.

We want to let you know about some upcoming changes to OneDrive. On 29/06/2016, the amount of storage that comes with OneDrive will change from 15 GB to 5 GB. We are also discontinuing the 15 GB camera roll bonus.

You can read more about it here click me

You only get 1TB with office365 deals which costs £5.99/month.

There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025

Why bother at all? Buying your own storage is dirt cheap now. A 1TB drive cost £40 or less. If you are worried about reliability, buy two.

If you're constantly jetting around the world and need to access the data frequently from anywhere, buy a network drive and leave it attached to your home network. Many use multiple disks to ensure that data is not lost through a disc failure.

The free 'Cloud' systems advertised are just tricks to get you using them before they introduce charges for your data. Cloud storage may make sense for a big company, but why on earth would an individual user want to trust his data to someone else and pay them for it?

Don't bank on it, loads of backup systems are found to be faulty when needed.

Remote servers aren't always reliable, here are a few situations I've come across:-

Server company went bust, everybody trying to recover their data then brought the server to its knees.

Primary server went faulty, secondary server faithfully copied trash and no original data left worth talking about.

Cloud hosting shoved its prices up to over double.

Small print limited how much data you were allowed to recover at once.

Server company lying, both primary and secondary servers were in the same room.
