I'm 73. After leaving the post office sorting office in The Quadrant, Hoylake, at appx 10.45am on Saturday 14th September,and walking down the street,a large alsatian dog not on a lead attacked me without any provocation from me, biting me on both legs and making me fall heavily onto the hard pavement.As well as the bites my right knee was twisted, right elbow grazed, right hand sprained and with a small piercing,middle finger on left hand bleeding profusely, both buttocks bruised, right arm and shoulder strained,painful/stiffness left of throat, difficulty in turning head to left.I have bad backache.No apology or offer of help or enquiry as to my health from the owner, who put the dog on a lead (too late)and refused to give his details, saying 'do you want the dog put down?'.He then said 'I'm going for a walk' and then left me and went off towards the roundabout near the Quadrant.The police were informed when I got home and later Wirral Council,and my son took me to the walk in centre where the cuts and bites were cleaned and dressed,I had a tetanus injection and was prescribed antibiotics. I'm now feeling rough and having difficulty sleeping because of the injuries.
The owner was a white male,appx 5' 7'', balding/shaved head,stocky, maybe 40ish, light clothing possibly jeans and t shirt.I'll know him when I see him......
The police, council, and my family are keen to find this person.Please PM me if you can identify him - it could be you or your child next.

Oh my goodness, what a horrible story. Hope you find him and bring the owner and the dog to justice.

That is shocking !!
I think the question do you want the dog put down is the question put right back at the owner.

He probably won't change his walking habits so he will return in time.

You may also be disappointed into what can actually be done.

Thank you - police are checking cctv. No-one could intervene as it happened so quickly - and of course they could have been bitten! The only people around were 2 young men outside the fitness centre who saw but there was nothing they could do. After man and dog left they kindly asked if I was OK.

I hope they find the owner and in my opinion the dog should be put down.

and the owner should get a beating from a 'trained fighter squad' 'maximum pain- least damage'

And the owner - as they usually take after their owners.....

the owner must be a total ned too - dog off the lead that he can't control - on such a busy road....

We've got an Alsatian and this kind of d--khead owner makes my blood boil. Its why decent dog owners get a bad name. I hope you identify this person. There are no bad dogs, just bad owners and unfortunately the dog will pay the price for this turd's actions.

I've started using the road round the park now instead of going through, fed up with uncontrolled canines. If they're not biting and attacking people they're jumping up and putting mud on nice, clean white jeans. "He's only being friendly."
