The Council have challenged this by saying there are only 6 with "salaries" over £100,000 but of course there are many other ways the staff are remunerated than plain salary. Country wide 3,483 council staff receive more than £100,000 SOURCE1 There is also mention that in the NHS at least 50,137 received more than £100,000, 1,757 of the 50,000 received more than £200,000, 203 more than £300,000, 60 more than £400,000 and 8 more than £500,000 SOURCE2 and they want to save £90,000 by getting rid of 25 school crossings
