Grosvenor Casinos also own Mecca Bingo and as they will be tied into a VERY long lease I wouldn't be surprised if this place turns into a Bingo hall which would be a real shame.

it's happening.
In respect to consulting staff. It's rumoured that during the consultation the management asked the Casino staff 'Any business plans or ideas to keep your jobs will be considered' Smells very amateur-ish - i'm sure most croupier's could deliver a new take on the casino business model.
Turned a profit this month - obviously not enough of a profit to make it worth while for 66 jobs to be saved (some staff will be relocated I'm sure)
I do feel it was the classic 'New kid on the block' syndrome. Very arrogant when it first opened with very rude bouncers and security trying people like crap (If you went there with a group of 10, they would find a problem with one and so you'd go elsewhere). It's all well and good while you're the hot ticket in town but people quickly forget to go back.

went for a job there when it was opening, the first stage thing was a tranmere rovers and it all felt extremely amateurish from the way it was run to the group activities they had you doing. I was asked back for a final one on one interview thing and politely declined, something stunk way back then. I haven't been there since it opened but i've heard few good but many bad stories of experiences there. nbmole has it right, i've heard groups of 8+ which are made up of more males than females are given little leeway before being asked to leave. i think the only thing that went in its favour is that it's a 24/7 establishment.
