I am attempting to write a short history of New Brighton Tower football club along with a full record of all their matches (both first team and reserves) and to include as much information about the players as I am able to find. I would be very interested to hear from anyone whose ancestors had any connection with the club or who could otherwise help me with information that may not be available through libraries or archives.

Do you mean the team which lasted from 1896 to 1901 or do you really mean the team which started in 1921, the Rakers? I think it is more likely Rudebox's grandad would have been involved in the latter unless he is over 120.

Does the certificate have a date on as I suspect it has to be for the Rakers founded in 1921 but there was a team from 1896 to 1901 called New Brighton Tower Football Club.

It will have, yes- it will be after 1921- probably the 40s.

I have a B share Certificate no 511 in respect of The New Brighton Association Football&Athletic Club for four shares of 10/-each dated 02/06/1924. It belonged to my late Grand Father. Says Capital £10,000 divided into 8000 A Shares of 5/- each and 16,000 B Shares of 10/- each

Thanks all. To clarify: it is New Brighton Tower Football Club 1897-1901 for which I am currently seeking information not already available elsewhere (ie on the internet which contains mainly cut & paste items from other sites and has many omissions).
There is already a good book about the Rakers but it only covers their affairs until 1951. I also plan to expand this to their eventual demise in 1983 in due course. Many thanks therefore to Rudebox for posting a copy of the share certificate.
