Wirral pensioner 'critical' after being hit by own car on driveway
An elderly man suffered serious injuries in an accident on his own Wirral driveway.
Officers believe the 83-year-old man was working on his car, a Chevrolet Lacetti estate, when he suffered multiple injuries on Sunday afternoon in Leasowe, Wirral .
He was discovered by shocked neighbours and passers-by at the end of his driveway in Twickenham Drive at about 2.35pm.
He was taken to the Royal Liverpool Hospital suffering from multiple injuries. His condition is described as critical but stable.
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit are appealing for information.
Sgt Craig O’Brien said: “We believe that the gentleman had been working on his car. He suffered multiple injuries, which we believe were caused as a result of a collision with his own car and we are trying to establish what happened.
“At this stage there is nothing to suggest anything criminal but we would like to speak to anyone who may have any information so that we can establish what happened.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 0151 777 5747.
