This Photo was taken in the year of 1948, obviously before the Birkenhead Market was destroyed by fire.
The Photo is of the Original Butchers in the Market. The man in the Photographer is my Grandad, Pat (or Paddy) McKeown, owner of the Bucthers Stall. The Stall stood at Number 16 Market Hall, Butchers Aisle.
oh for the old market,the atmosphere the hustle and the bustle.unlike the present one,empty half the time,butchers all but gone.just waiting for asda to kill it off for good.sad .
