questions...questions..my thirst for local history knows no bounds... smile
Does anyone know about the old tram that was used for changing rooms for the big club house on Bidston Hill, whether the remains are still there? Apprantly they were there not so long ago, probably the metal parts a couple of people I know, knew of the tram.

The tram remains you mention were actually used as a gazebo for the house that was moved to Royden Park. It was there until the early 60s and the bogie of it was there for some years after. It is a long long time since I have been that way but the last time I went there was nothing there. In the 50s as kids we would often go and play on it as the wooden frame was still there attached to the bogie but little else.

Did you know that years ago when there was a zoo in the tower grounds New Brighton, many of the cages were old trams?

When I think of it now, it was extremely cruel keeping animals in conditions like that.
