i recall it was in a row of offices one of which sold fires, i used to be a paper boy at gerards the newsagents. we would go around the back of the pub to get wooden crates for our trolleys . Matalan was a car showroom and bromborough paints was peters the builders next to the po. The po was owned by a right grumpy old woman who had the chemist by the chippy and cafe.
