Does anyone know if there was ever another war memorial along the front, with a cannon and 2 soldiers? around 1951.

Hi i have a client at work who says that when he was about 6 in around 1951 he always used to walk passed it and stop and look at it, he knows of the monument by William Bernie Rhind but swears there was another one along the front.

Not doubting his memory but it's not listed as a war memorial, hopefully someone else may remember it.
Clutching at straws, I wonder if it had anything to do with Mother Redcap's etc, and has been removed?
