Does anyone have any memories/memorabilia of Birkenhead's famous Argyle Theatre. Tickets are now on sale for Heswall Musical Society's production of The Argyle Remembered which takes place at Heswall Hall Thursday 30th June-Saturday 2nd July. The show tells the story in song and dance of Birkenhead's famous Argyle Theatre. Come along and hear all about the history being told of this famous "Theatre of Varieties". It opened in 1868 and was sadly bombed in 1940. The shell of the building remained until 1973 when it was demolished. Where the theatre once stood is now occupied by the former House of Fraser car park in Birkenhead. Lots of great music hall songs included in this show from acts that once appeared at The Argyle Theatre. Songs include "My Old Man", "You Made Me Love You", "Let's All Go Down The Strand and many many more. Don't miss out! Would love to hear people's memories about this Theatre of Varieties.
