Wondered what the history of this place (now a community centre) may have been?
Could it have been the original church school?

If it's the same building, that would mean it's 135 years old (1865)
Would Institute at that time have been a form of school ( as in the BI being Birkenhead Institute a grammar school)?

The mission hall (or halls as there were two next to each other) were built sometime around 1885 (between 1882 and 1889 from my maps and further verified by the 1875 map).

There was also a mission church appeared on the east corner of Brassey Street and Brill Street at about the same time. Funnily enough this was built opposite Vicar Street which existed long before.

There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025
