Hi! Does anyone know where I can buy old (preferably Victorian) floorboards please? I'm renovating my house and need to replace some that are damaged and split.

Thanks in advance!

Try a demolition firm first perhaps?

They'll need to know width, thickness, and type of wood as well as how much you want. It'll probably be cheaper from them than from a reclaimed building materials specialist, but it will be pricy from both I expect.

It doesn't grow on trees, you know!

Good luck.

@fish5153 - Cleveland Street, Birkenhead? I was there today and there was only a place that sold pallets. The reclaimation place is long gone according to people we asked at Jewsons.

Would you happen to have the Ebay details please?

Thank you to all that replied! happy

@diggingdeeper & fish5133 - it turns out the Timber Yard ARE still on Cleveland Street, Birkenhead, they're just on the other side of the traffic lights, opposite the derelict warehouse.

"Kel Reclaim" is a good local source I never knew of, thank you fish5133! I'll be trying both on Monday. thumbsup

Well, "Timber Yard" and "Kel Reclaim" were a total bust! thumbsdown

The former didn't have what I needed, and the latter was a small, (closed), yard with mostly wood joists and pallets.

This may be trickier than I thought... think

Kel weren't allowed to use their saw due to noise last time I was there.

Might be worth a phone call to J O'Grady's, pretty sure they don't do wood but they would probably know someone that does. http://www.jogrady.co.uk/contact-us.html
