Was going to go but forgot about it. You're right about the information being wrong:

Yer, we went for a nose. It was busy when we went.

It was 'alright', would have preferred it if they were moving- like at The Strand a couple of years back.

I did think the staffing levels were O.T.T.
How many people does it take to point where to go?? A large sign would have sufficed.

It was the best kept secret on the Wirral!!

We took a couple of Rally cars down for the Wallasey Motor Club to promote the Prom rally, we got there at midday, and I had to go at about 5pm...

The advert in the paper, I saw yesterday evening once I had got home as the paper was posted Thursday afternoon... whistle ... I did however post all the info on the WMC Facebook page on Tuesday, so those liking that got the info wink

Cars arrived in dribs and drabs throughout the morning, and set off to the Tunnel at about 13:30 where they got their runs... The drivers were also disillusioned, as prior to setting off they were briefed that although the tunnel was shut one side, they should adhere to the 40mph speed limit - one driver even told me afterwards there was the tunnel police parked in the mid point layby to check the speed...

Car returned at 15:00, and between 16:00 and 16:30ish they put on a bit of a show with some donuts etc....

After the disappointment of the run, I think a lot left early.

As Rudebox says the one a couple of years ago was brilliant. That, like this one is a promo for the Pageant of Power I would imagine. I was following them on Twitter and details were vague, when I asked them to confirm where and when I got no reply.
Shame because it could have been really great especially as the weather was so good

Not very exciting but I took some video of the cars coming through the tunnel from the wheatland lane bridge on my phone.

I walked over the Wheatland bridge and noticed a number of Council staff and a policeman, never knew what they where there for, but looking at your video of the cars coming though the tunnel, that must have really pissed the other road users off, the tunnel tolls go up and then they shut one side of it down,
Hasn't this Council got better things to do!

They close one side of the tunnel daily - off peak. This had to be finished by 3pm to reopen it fully again smile

So they drive through the tunnel and make a lot of noise, and I`m classed as weird. I really do not understand why this is classed as anything but noise pollution. I love fancy cars, I love them to go fast but to make a lot of noise surely would turn a lot of people off.

I came across some more footage on here BT News

Some good shots and some self back-slapping.

They would have got a bigger slap on the back if they had told us more in advance.

Surprised they didn't make them pay £1.70 for the tunnel!
Or did they?
