Wouldnt be of any intrest to me, I prefer MP3 CD's. Firstly the cost of such a unit is far too high and secondly its cheaper to just plug in a hard drive based MP3 player to an existing head unit...

Also I rekon memory card head units are the way forward for portable media, and these can be had at the fraction of the cost. And with 2GB SD cards being less then £12, its just so much easier then using a hard drives, not to mention more resiliant to the bumps and shakes of British roads.

Theres a few reasons the Sony MEX-1HD was never a popular choice, and that was way back in 2003...

Fair enough MattyC, but it does have several nice additional features, namely DVD, wireless internet, bluetooth and the ability to use it as a PC, should you be stuck in a traffic jam and feel the need to play solitaire!

I think what i was trying to clear up was
do they come with the unit or are they additional to the price.

If it wasn't as pricey, perhaps £100 less, I'd go for one.

CustomIce, could you get me prices and details of some motorized in dash head units too?

No problem, what brand or are you not fussy?
What kind of price range are you looking for too mate? just so i can rule any hugely expensive ones out if thats not what you are interested in.
Posted By: BMW Joe Re: Single DIN car PC - 21st Jan 2007 11:30pm
Not fussy at all, must have a aux-in though.

can you get prices on both a flip screen (no cd/dvd player) and one with a dvd player?

Looking at no more than £200, so the cheaper the better really smile
Posted By: CustomIce Re: Single DIN car PC - 22nd Jan 2007 9:28am
It's more likey you could get one without a cD/DVD for that kind of price, but i'll have a look for you and post up with waht i find.
