Anyone remember Bidston Windmill breaking its chains in high winds and the sails going around, about 54 years ago
Wow, dangerous- obviously.
Was there any injuries or worse? How was this 'dealt with'?
I was a kid at the time, so no idea what the result was. My Nan lifted me up to watch the sails go around. We used to live in Oakdale Road opposite the British Leather lime pits.
