a while ago i got a puncture an had to change me wheel then the nxt day an the nxt day me dad took it the garage an the stupid wheel was hangin on by the lockin bolt or what ever its called an then again on tuesday night t happens agen, do i jus need new bolts?
The thread might be warn off the bolts. have a look at them if it is just buy some new ones.
Or it might be that the bolts where not tight enough and they have worked there way loose.
well i had to get a new tyre put on so took it the garage an they sorted it all out for me so its strange that it happend agen tho
maybe some of the tyre fitter (cough cough scooby) can assist with this one
tis ok my fella is a mechanic, was jus seeing what other ppl thought lol x
Thats either worn bolts of shite nuts,u say the locking nut is the one that isnt working loose? just get anyone who isnt a pirate to look at em and the problem will be obvious,u may need new nuts
Oh dear,
Just be happy you havent got a Mini as wheels always fly off! Speacially on motorways....they've even got a club goin!

mine?
Yeah, i thought that is what this topic is about
id theyre alloys on a 106 then it might be you or the last person to fit the wheels has de-threaded the hub (which ive done myself) or not tightened them enough. but if i was you get it checked out and dont drive it in the meantime. get the AA or someone to come out and have a look, say youve got stuck i.e. not close to home and they should come out as youve "broken down"
I think its quite dangerous having the hubs tapped so the wheel bolts screw into them.
As said above, its very easy for them to become cross threaded. Once thats happened, youre pretty much knackered.

A simple yes or no would safice so i can help you accordingly.
i dont get what ye mean, erm i dont think so coz there alloys, an i think its startin 2 fall off agen haha
Okay, lets put this in blonde terms just for you hunny....
Are the alloy wheels Peugeot Wheels that were fitted to the car when it was new OR are they some alloys that someone has bought from an accessory shop (or similar) and fitted more recently ?
no there not peugeot wheels, an they were on the car wen i bought it!
Right, maybe the wheel bolts are not long enough and thats why they are coming loose ?
When fitting alloys normally you have to replace all the wheel bolts at the same time so that could be your problem ?
Possibly the wheel bolts are damaged or the hub has been cross threaded ?
If your going to the meet on thursday i will have a look for you.
okies thenk you
x

it could be the alloys fitted are for a ford offset which some are (i.e. OZ) and they need spacers aswel to get them to fit. yours may have the spacers but not the required longer bolts to screw into the hub sufficiently
i no my shit
Basically, what gary is saying is, some numpty has bought the wrong wheels cos they could be arsed lookin for the right ones. Check the offset,or get some1 to do it for u,as the wrong offset aint good for ur car any way u look at it. The offset wil be stamped/printed on the back of the spokes/rim as ETxx with the xx being numbers somewhere between 8 and 60 give or take. The lower the number the further out the arches the wheels stick
its not the bolts coz i got new ones, its the hub thats worn
I wish i had a car for the wheel to fall off... lol
haha u dont want ye wheel fallin off izzy its dangerous x
Aah it might be dangerous, Kaytie.. but at least id have a car, lol... bah, going on about a car.. I dont even have a provisional yet
lol
