Car is black and would like to bring it back to near showroom condition

A cutting compound like G3, used by body shops to bring the shine back following wet sanding would do it. Try Classic car paint, just off Oxton road in Birkenhead, they would be able to help you out.

They will come back within a week, i wouldn't bother, Black cars show these up terrible especially in the sunlight, i hated my black car because of this. I paid 150 quid for a mop and polish but soon it was back to its previous state.
