engine oil leak - 20th Oct 2011 6:47pm
got a mega leak of oil from my engine and cant locate it. need somewhere to steam clean it; any one got any recommendations. cheers

Where about is it coming from, in that i mean passenger side, drivers side?

if its a 300 tdi its most likely to be the vac pump on the drivers side of engine just aft of the inj pump

about in the middle, after the clean there was a drip on the front diff, was wet also at the rear of the sump and arround that area

the other fav oil leak are the front oil seal see if oil comeing out the timing case i take it you have checked that the rocker box screws hav'nt come loose another one that has caught me out before

nothing coming from the front, still quite a heavy leak ;-(

Dave you have had a water leak all along.The good news is nothing is worse than it was.

no mate, when it was up on the ramp after a bit of engine ticking over there was 2 seperate drips from sump seal. thwe sump was replaced and all is good for now (fingers crosased) i got water coming from somewere now lol, never ends does it
