The most powerful production car Seat has ever made has been revealed by the Spanish manufacturer this week - but it's only on sale in Switzerland.

It's called the Copa and it's powered by a highly-tuned version of the 2.0-litre TFSI engine from the standard Cupra. Seat developed the model to mark the seventh year of its one-make race series, the Supercopa, which supports the DTM German touring car championship.

It produces 281bhp and will sprint from 0-62mph in 5.6 seconds and then all the way to a top speed of 157mph. The car also has uprated suspension and brakes.

Of course, all that power needs a bolder look and Seat have bolted on an aggressive bodykit to go with the fancy new paint job. The Copa also gets black-painted 18" alloys and twin tailpipes.

Inside Copa owners get leather bucket seats while the unique paintwork is repeated on the centre console. Copa-badged floor mats and alloy pedals complete the drama.

This limited edition costs the equivalent of £31,000.

so 281 through FWD means no tyres by the following friday, but a lovely rubber driveway.
