It's also not online movies in the sense of the word.

Its the same concept as Blockbuster, only by post. There are UK providers like easyCinema and Lovefilm; and whilst they operate online, they deliver the movies by post/you return them by post.

There are realtime online services gradually coming online, I believe Microsoft has a service on it's Xbox and Apple are supposedly starting one soon via it's iTunes service.
