It broke down at Rhyl on the way back & got to Crewe 3 hours late, having been rescued by a diesel loco sent from Holyhead.
Passengers returning south were sent in taxis, as the line was closed for engineering works that night. Must have been expensive for those going to London, where the tour originated.
