Hi

Ive just bought a 3tb drive as an addition to my 2 other 1.5tb drives in my pc.

When i first connected it, it was showing as only 801.6gb in the bios , showing as 746gb in windows,so updated the bios and now its showing as 3tb in the bios which is good.

However its still showing as 746gb in windows. ive ensured its been converted to GPT but its just not having none of it.

I am old school and running windows xp pro 64bit atm.

Any ideas guys?

I rather suspect Win XP cannot address 3 TB

Doc & others will know and advise

Xp is the problem it has a 2.1tb limit i think, you could try Paragon GTP i think my drive come with it but but never tried it as linux win 7 has no problems with large drives.

Try to Partition the Hard Drive to 3 partitions.

1Tb each with a file system of NTFS

Somtimes these drives come with software to help you achive the above results.
