What do we know about the remains of the toll cottage on Chester High Rd. Gayton, not far past Glegg Arms & on same side?

I take it that it's a remnant on the toll road to Chester. To be honest i have not realy seen anything at all about the toll road, surley there must be more bit's related to it that have been under our noses for years.
The A540 from the glegg to five ways at Neston was cleared just after WW2 to make way for a dual carrage way but it never got past the clearing stage, if you pass that way it's noticeable that the grass verges are very wide on the right going towards Neston so perhaps all other evidence in the area has been lost !.

It survived up to the 1980s, but was only occupied up to 1965. It was opposite Gayton Lane.
