This pub must have ceased trading at least 12 years ago...it must be the longest time a pub has been empty without being converted or demolished!

It was used by an engineering firm called Star enginineering for a while,he welded things inside like gates and stuff.It was a mess inside with steel and crap every where..His first name was Freddy believe it or not.

I did the cavity wall insulation on that place when it was being built.

I used to have a bevvy in there when I was home on leave. Good crowd from the flats and surrounding streets. Remember someone pinched a sunburst clock from there one Saturday. The Sunday saw the appearance of a notice in its place saying "Sorry No Tick". Good sing-songs in there all the time.

Does any one remember my mum and nan who use to drink in the cygnet in the 60s mum was Joan Forrester and my nan was Edith atherton
