I was on duty at Green Lane, the train terminated here at 13.17, panic over nothing just leaves blew in to the resistors causing overheating and a bit of smoke.

Safety first passengers detrained here, train ran to depot where fitter cleared leaves, passengers boarded next train at 13.32

Think there might have been two incidents as there are no trains between Hamilton Square and Rockferry this morning. Took my wife 2 1/4 hours to get to work in E Port.
She reckons they could see a derailed train just North of Rockferry Station.
Twitter Merseyrail refers just to "an incident"!

My sons poor friend get caught in this this morning at 7.45 on his way to liverppol for his theory test at 8.30, to which they repied your to late and will have to not just book another appointment but he has to pay the £31 again ,through no fault of his own. I thought this was terrible, if he was late through his own fault then ok, but in this case a test at 8.30 am i sure they could have fitted him in some time later in the day.

That's terrible Sue, surely they could fit him in, it's ridiculous.
