POLICE: appeal for witnesses to a sexual assault - 9th Jan 2009 2:29pm
POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a sexual assault on a 16-year-old girl that happened on Friday, January 2, at Wallacre Park, Wallacre Road, Wallasey.
At around 6.30pm the victim was walking through Wallacre Park when a man approached her from behind. The attacker pinned her against the wall of an alleyway and sexually assaulted her.
The struggle between the victim and the offender attracted the attention of a woman walking her dog and the offender ran away in the direction of Hillside Road.
The offender is described as being possibly of mixed race, around 5ft 6in tall, of medium to chubby build and was wearing black casual clothing. He received a scratch to his face during the attack.
Detectives are keen for the woman who was walking her dog at the time of the attack to contact them as she may have important information.
