More trauma for the Jeep - 29th Jun 2004 1:20am
Nope didn't roll it this time! Managed to scrape a few mud walls though, and uh, drown it!
Took part in the Rhino Rally at the weekend, all went fantastic, really enjoyed it. Here's the Jeep at the end of the day:
Drowned the engine going through this mud run:
Muddy water got onto the Alternator which in turn splashed up onto the poorly positioned induction kit. Havin a snorkel next I think! and because the engine stalled and the water was past the doors, of course it started leaking in. My carpets now have the consistency of mushy peas:
Starting to love diesels more and more though! Got a tow up to the camping fields where we took out the heater plugs and cranked her over on the starter motor, filled the cylinders with wd40, cranked her again, then put her back together and she started with a flick of the key! An overjoyed Jimbo then drove straight back into the woods and carried on with the Rally!
Here's the truck as she stands:
All in good fun
