Had to purchase a electric park brake tool for a job, probably a one off but who knows. Its the Autel est201 which deactivates the electronic handbrake and resets the system when work is complete. If anyone needs to loan the tool just pm me and we can sort it, or if you want to buy it I am asking
£50.

Works well and is a doddle to use. I am considering getting the Ross-Tech VCDS and this system has the capability of the tool above so it seems it may be surplus to requirements!

Sounds good to me Oh Yeah...I have an issue with an intermittent problem, autobox G38 sensor. I want to confirm if its the sensor, the loom/connection or an internal problem. any chance of checking it for me, my autel 702 is telling me its the G38 sensor but I want to confirm its not a harness or TCM problem.

No problem bud ive not had it long used it a couple of times on my T5 van, we can run a scan on the car and see what fault codes it comes up with and go from there smile

Thanks, I would be interested in seeing the measuring blocks for the auto-box problem which I believe VCDS is able to recover from the system. Is the one you have HEX-CAN? Not a problem if it isn't as the earlier VCDS is applicable to this vehicle as its a Mk4 golf. It could just be a bad connection from the sensor to the TCM but I would welcome a chance to see this software in action as I am impressed with its alleged capabilities.

So sorry for the late reply, went to bed earlier than usual last night and have been out all day and only now have had the chance to check this forum. I would very much appreciate a look at the kit, I am busy all this week but if there is a day next week when it would be convenient to you I will make sure I can arrange it by shifting round my work load. Thanks again for the offer I really appreciate it. Steve.
