Can anyone help me with fitting a new alternator to a Peugeot 406 diesel, P Reg.

I think its the alternator anyway, the battery light has been going on and off for a couple of weeks, now it is staying on permanently.

Check that the belt isn't loose and that all the connectors are okay, after that if you have another battery try switching them round.

When did it last have a battery? Check that the voltage before starting is at least 12v and going to 14v when running.

I have a voltage tester if you don't have one.

Had a new alternator fitted now but thanks again.
