a new rear view mirror for me car?
i can only assume the car i have now was used by more than one person on a regular basis in the past as the mirror jut feels so loose when adjusting it...
looking to spend about £30 max, dunno where to look tho lol - oh and are they just stuck on by a sucker thingy?
Motorworld and Halfords do em; as will you're local motor factor in all likelyhood.
Get a decent one like cos the cheaper they are the lesser quality they are usually, am not sure on pricing, but £30 should probably be plenty.
Local scrappy and pull one off a mk 5/6 Escort, or Mk3 Fiesta. I got one for the Honda - they charged me £5 You can get the sticky pads (very strong) from Halfords or motor world for a few quid
nice 1 cheers mate, never thought of the scrappy... just need to find one by mine (never actually seen one or had to look for one lol)
any reason y to pull one off one of those cars? lol
They are stuck on to the screen on a flat base plate so they are universal
...some cars have the mirror attached to the roof, and some have an adapter stuck to the screen which the mirror slots in to...
ahhh makes sense then, ta - just remembered there's a scrappy down the road - will probs just take a wander down this weekend
so im not the only one who needs his rear view mirror fixing mines fell off and wont go back on will try halfords this weekend
LOL MINE HASNT FELL OFF - YET.... JUST ADJUSTING IT FEELS REALLY LOOSE AND IF I GO OVER A BIG BUMP IT WILL PROBABLY FINISH UP POINTING AT THE GROUND HAHA...
oops, never realised i had caps on and cant be arsed retyping it all lol
ive tried alsorts glue sticky pads and it keeps falling off! so i will use gaffa tape tonight as a temporary measure till i get home on saturday! (i look an idiot holding it in my hand to see whats behind me!) lol
Ive used the specially labled mirror sticky pads from Halfords on a few cars - never had one fall off after sticking the mirror on properly with the pad.
You need to make sure the screen and mirror are clean, smooth, and grease free. It helps if you use a hairdryer to heat the screen where your gonna stick the mirror and the mirror before attaching the double sided sticky pad.
Most recently I used this method on the Honda (With a Fiesta Mirror) and its still there - also remember, this car has very stiff suspension, and the car gets a lot of vibration....
cheers for the advice ill get it sorted on saturday
its good for blind spots!! lol
