ok flks..heres something to amuse you all..am still having a mare with the audi..
The dual mass flywheel (priced at an eyewatering 305 quid) didnt arrive..in fact when i spoke to the company...they hadnt even ordered it in..a week prior!
so i had to pay 360 quid for one!..doh
the bargain splitter from audi at 38 quid...had a huge scratch on it..not impressed..got to go get that one sorted.
Driving home last night having fixed everything...and 710 quid lighter...the gear linkage hasnt been set up right..and it pops..leaving me unable to select ANY gear...doh.
oh..and the bargain injector i bought..well they failed to take the additional 27quid VAT..so realised their mistake and rang me 2 weeks later..and asked me is it ok if we take the extra 27 quid..well um no..it isnt actaully came the reply..to which he bascially put the fone down on me and took the extra cash from the card ANYHOW!
now im pissed
sounds like a serialistic nightmare man, i really feel for you!
I guess you are getting nearer and nearer to going down the new car route?
wow, thats some bad luck in a short ammount of time, feel for you bro !

Gutted man

quite seriously..i cant select a gear!
RAC bloke cant fix it...its going back on a low-loader! doh
oh and the fkers from Merlin Diesel wont refund me the 27 quid VAT that they took off my card...as they reckon I authorised the full amount in the first place...(which I did)
lol be a bitch and do a chargeback on the card payment; let someone else share some of the pain for a change.

i have reported it as a fraudulent transaction to barclays..let them deal with it...failing that a vist from lancashire police might do the trick
Haha nice one
Barclays "should" do the chargeback for you then. If it was fraudualent as per the advice of the issuing bank, usually the merchant account provider doesnt bother to fight it hehe.

well just been on the fone to the MD..and hes gonna fight the chargeback...and Ive said let him...
its not about the 27 quid..its the principle....It took him forever just to get an apology from him for his staff hanging up on me!

You stick to you're guns my mate, you have the upper hand, the merchant hardly ever wins a chargeback... i know from first hand.
If he is sensible he will have chargeback insurance anyway lol.
damn right..and when i win it...he will get a visist from lancs re the fraud!..revenge is a dish best served cold!
Haha well u are in a good postiton... anyone else and the plod dont give a damn about fraud unless it involves real money
[quote=MattLF the plod dont give a damn about fraud unless it involves real money

you would be suprised...just about having the evidence...
Last time I had a fraudualent transaction, the payment processor said there was no point in advising the police even though I had the guys details from a previous transaction because they arnt interested.
I had insurance but it was only worth a stupid amount so I didnt even bother lol.
And right now you are hoping it falls off the back and ends up written off so you can get a new one I guess?
nope..cuz I wont be paid out enough to replace that one...took me ages to find that one as its quite a rare beasty...plus all the etxra things ive done like chippin it and the brakes etc..so couldnt be doing with it gettin wrecked!
oooo best home that truck dont bump into a clown then matey
guess what...it was working fine...til i was south of the M6 toll yesterday..then it blew up..have no idea..but no power and lots of white smoke...sounds expensive.
Cost me 200 quid to get it recovered back home...words fail me right now!
Ouch!
Feel for you fella, when it rains it pours and you don't have a brolly...
Any you don't want it to rain, you weren't expecting rain etc..
Its gonna hurt, i think its damage limitation now...
Visa at the ready to fight another day.
< just checked, nope its not the 13th >
lol...bank of mum n dad...visas is a dangerous thing in my sticky little paws....
ok folks..heres the update...the turbos completey fkd!
Price list...300 quid ish for labour...
200 quid for full service inc all the filters it will need..
and around 500-600 quid for new turbo.....
so around the 1k mark...having spent best part of 1200 quid last month on it....
what to do what to do...
cant sell it as it is..its scrap at the moment.
and having spent all that money on it...it would be pointless to sell it!
Ouch
This is some pretty bad luck you've been having mate
Words fail me as to what to do - obviously its got to get fixed to sell, but once fixed do you sell with lack of confidence its going to be OK, or keep it as its had so much spent on it
Cant remember what it looks like under the bonnet, but Im guessing its pretty crammed under the plastic covers and would be a 'mare to work...
Dont you fancy getting your hands dirty and play round with some spanners to save on the labour costs? Couldnt you get a good 2nd hand turbo, £500 - £600 seems very expensive, you can get high power, uprated garrett items for that money - never mind OEM replacements
Isn't there a place down beside the Priory that re cons Turbo's ??
it still charges interest..just not quite as much as the high street ones do!
Isn't there a place down beside the Priory that re cons Turbo's ??
variable vane turbo..as mine is....whilst it could be reconditioned...you cant reset the geometry of the vanes...so you cant guarentee that it will be ok.
So whilst you can get a reconditioned one...for the difference in price...not worth the hassel.
Moreover the one ive got now is completely fkd...shafts broken etc...so not in a postion to even contemplate reconditioning that one....
Ouch

uprated gareett items are around the 1k mark for my engine...as the oe part is a variable vane one...
yes..i could technically get my hands dirty...but you know what...i just dont trust myself enough nor do i have the time, energy, inclination or facilities to do so....and your right the engine is crammed in there...a mare to work on!
would rather pay a bit more and know the cars right...my mates does me a deal anyhow...as mates rates...so cant really complain too much....
Pah gimmie the days of plugs and points...
...well, hope you get it sorted and manage to keep a full compliment of kidneys
hope you get it sorted and manage to keep a full compliment of kidneys
You would hope so as i'm sure someone called him heartless..
I guess all you can say is "At least its not Christmas too"
It will all be good again soon...
Male Escort with your uniform you will get that bill
paid in no time
< No i dont fancy him >
hahaha.....

Apparently...garret dont sell the parts for my turbo aftermarket..hence any reconditioned turbo is either made up from non- genuine parts OR cobbled together old turbo parts...new turbo is the only option!
fk it..im back to work easter monday...some people are gonna get some tickets...when im having a bad day...someone elses is gonna get a whole lot worse!
SAXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ?
SAXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ?
oh yes obiwan!
SAXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ?

its an audi...lots more than meets the eye....have worked on it before and its a fkin nightmare. The injector does require specialist tools...plus resetting engine maangement lights etc....
plus i dont have the tools or the space to do it...just got a parking space at my flat....not really practical!
fk it its only money....(i dont have! lol)

I posted a while ago..should i get a new car?..knowing changing it would be around the 2.5 to 3 k mark...or do i spend the money on it...hence why im kinda just accepting of the whole thing!
Tell Bank of Mum youve bought her a new car lol
