Here is my car, it's a peugeot 106 1.1 "Zest2" in met blue. Not very quick but fine for me coz i'm still learning!
Not many mods at the moment, i've just put some of my surfy stickers on and added some mats inside. It also came with a clarion cd player so i'm pleased with that. Pretty minimal otherwise, just a sunroof. It'll progress with time, hopefully one day i'll end up with this! -
That's well tidy
I can see pride n joy in your car...
Now your going to tell me you dont wash it someone else does..
nice 106! love these little buggers still tryin to sell mine!
good luck with the modding! any questions give us a shout.
Can't say i've seen many 106s in this colour, it's darker than most blue ones i've seen and more metallic. It's nicer imo. Clean car, I'm sure you're gonna have some great times with it
Webby - she'll probably end up with me or her little bro washing it while she watches!
Got some speakers here that I really wanted to fit today but couldn't coz of the snow! They're Pioneer and look really good, hope they sound as good. I'll post some pics up when they're in, and I've got some pink cw stickers from the meet too.
Is GTI styling the plan? if so u have my approval. any chance of a full run down of plans?
Engine work(transplant)?
Interior?
Stereo?
Not got any plans for this one, only got a part time job at the mo so i'm a bit tight for cash.
Am planning to get a gti in few years and get it lookin' like that pic
I had a 1.1 zest2 in silver and it was rapid! if i was you ide change the air filter for better throttle response but keep the back box standard cos u will loose power as i did. only cost ya 15quid+ to do
im on my third 106 now, from a 1.1 to a quiksilver now got a gti
hope you like it any probs just ask me and ill do my best to help
drill the airbox for an improvement in throttle response and noise, and maybe slap a K&N element in you airbox. As gary said the 1.1 is not a sloooow car ,my 1.4 escort got caned by them
but please do not drill the airbox
if your gona do things to it do them so they are easily put back to standard or may appeal to everyone. you try selling a car tghen explaining why its got a 'drilled air box'
Sorry scoop but I agree with Gary, She's not gonna keep this one forever! lol, and when she gets her GTi, she might as well do the decent thing and get an induction kit rather than just drilling the box.
Whelan I remember the fun we had with your 106, that thing was fantastic for handbrakes.
a)induction kits often give a loss in power
b)drilled airbox costs chuff all, gives the noise, increases response, and keeps the air cool, may increase power
c)a replacement airbox from a scrappy at selling time will cost pittence
In my eyes, thats the way to go. My airbox is beyond drilled, its custom modified into a ram air enclosed filter with the whole lower front section removed and cold air fed in,the roar is sexual
yuo cant drill a 106 1.1 airbox cos of the position in the engine bay, remember i had one aswell, which my dad now owns.
You would be better off getting a k&n induction kit, my dad threw mine in the bin, sorry. it fits right over the throttlebody and gives a nice sound, i also had a 4" backbox on mine. was loud and i liked it but i know some people didnt.
I wasn't talking about this car scoop, she wants a GTi in a few years, an induction kit would probably give an increase in power on the 1.6, just not the 1.1.
She's ademant (~sp) that she's not modding the engine on this anyway, it's all down to the insurance company at the end of the day, I'm sure a few interior/exterior mods will happen, but nothing serious.
id suggest if your gettin a GTi in the future do mods to your 1.1 that you can transfer if you want to, then at least its not money down the drain, lookin forward to seein this 106 take shape hehe
106's rule the world, how cud they replace it with the monstrosity they call a 107 i mean OMFG!
