There all at least 50+ years and in Black and white. So i thought that if anyone has a modern picture of the same place to get some comparisons up, of how its changed. Or 50 years in is it just the same ? ======= Pictures =============== 1 - 1930s Rodney Street, Birkenhead 2 - 1940s Central Hotel, Birkenhead, with George V Clock 3 - Looks like New Brighton Baths in back ground 4 - New Brighton Tower Building after Tower was demolished. 5 - Grange Road West the corner building on the Left is Bargain Booze 6 - Kings Land and Old Chester Road Bebington 7 - The Halfway House in Prenton 8 - 1950 Allansons, Grange Road, Birkenhead. Beatties took over the building in 1960 9 - Tunnel Entrance in birkenhead 1950 in the background you can see the Old Birkenhead Market 10 - The Park Hotel in grange road know dickie lewis. Think its changing names again dunno? 11 - Dock road in Birkenhead 1963 with Stone Maganeses and the Flour mills. 12 - Argyle Street 1961 looking towards Hamilton Square and the ABC Cinema now Rileys Snooker Hall 13 - Argyle Street 1950s looking towards Woodside 14 - Argyle Street Theatre 1900's 15 - Duke Street Bridge notice the Steam driven Lorrie ? 1920s 16 - 1948 Corporation Road in Birkenhead Looking towards Penny Bridge and the J Rank mill. 17. Dock road in birkenhead 1960 showing Stone Maganese Marine 18 - 1900's Oxtone Village 19 - 1961 Shore Road Pumping Station and showing the Old Steam Chimney looking up towards Hamilton Square 20 - 1965 Home Farm Road in Wood Church showing the Church in the Distance 21 - Lees Tapastry Works showing the Dock cottages.. The Tapastry work site is know Kwik Save (Somerfields) also in the Picture birkenhead north railway Station 1948 22 - 1960 Charing Cross Birkenhead the pole used to be greased in the middle as Revlers every New Year climbed it there where also toilets on the Roundabout and the Grange pub is now Mcdonalds 23 - 1954 WoodSide Ferry Terminal the huge ship is the Reina Del Pacifico 24 - 1910 New Chest Road in Rock Ferry 25 - The dock cottages which is Know Illchester Sqaure in the North End the big huge field by St James Church. 1900s. My grandad was born here $\:\)$ 26 - 1940s Old Chester Road Bebington 27 - Bidston Hill showing Observatory 1940's 28 - Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight also showing the Fountain infront of the Building. 1930's 29 - 1963 Maternity Hospital in Grange Mount it was demolished in 2002 30 - 1930s Woodchurch Road In Birkenhead see the halfway house in the distance 31 - Bidston Church on the way to the Ford Estate 1940s 32 - Seacombe Ferry 33 - Wallasey Village i think ? 35 - Brombourgh Brown Cow i believe 34 - Bebinton Rd : You can see Bebington Railway Bridge. 36 - Seacombe Ferry 37 - Liscard the picture is takin outside the Wellington on the corner of Seaview Road 39 - Moreton Cross 40 - Tower inn in liscard there should be huge block flats there lol 41 - Grange Road in West Kirby, looking towards the train station. 42 - Birkenhead North train Station 43 - Heswall 44 - Lever Brothers in Port Sunlight. 45 - Seacombe Ferry Terminal 46 - Storeton quarry 47 - mariners home on egremont prom 48 - Frankby Rd in Greasby. Looking on to Greasby Rd. 49 - Lady Lever Art Gallery 50 - Storeton quarry 51 - Hoylake Beach - Meols 52 - New Brighton baths i believe 53 - CO-OP in Liscard i believe its where Wilkinsons is not possitvely sure but its in Liscard 54 - By the looks of that its near the end of Kings Parade in Hoylake 55 - Castle Buildings, Telegraph Road, Heswall 56 - Bromborough Cross 57 - This is Pensby Road, in Pensby. 58 - Looks like eastham Village 59 - Parkgate 60 - Moreton Cross. 61 - Thorton Hough. 62 - Eastham Village : St Johns Rd. 63 - This is Little Neston. 64 - Rake Lane, Liscard 65 - Neston Cottage Hospital 66 - From Seabank road looking at Manor road. 67 - "The Boat House", bingo Parkgate. 68 - Hoylake Road looking towards Moreton Cross 69 - Central Park Wallasey and thats the Lake. 70 - Bidston Hill Windmill 71 - Bidston Hill Windmill 72 - Bidston Wind Mill. 73 - Raby Mere 74 - Raby Mere 75 - Williston Windmill 76 - is looking down Red Hill Road on Storeton hill 77 - Hilsbre Island 78 - Raby Mere 79 - Looks like Eastham Ferry 80 - Where am I? 81 - Fox and hound in the Barnston Dip 82 - Raby Mere 83 - Raby Mere in the 1930's. 84 - Wheatsheaf in Ness. 85 - This is Laird Street looking down from St James Church 86 - ABC Cinema in Argyle Street this is know Rileys Snooker Club 87 - This is Devonshire Road 1900's in birkenhead. 88 - 1900's Conway Street birkenhead on the Right you can see Shilocks on the left you can see what is know the ABC Chemist in the distance you can see Ritzy Theatre (old mecca bingo hall) 89 - Alexandra Garage in Conway Street Birkenhead i believe this is where Europa boulveard is where the Road towards Conway Park Station (not 100% sure) 90 - 1962 Grange Road, Coburg Street birkenhead This is not here anymore and the Pyramids shopping centre is situated here. 91 - <Duplicate> 92 - 1940s Old Chester Road Bebington on the Junction of Tower Lane 93 - Shore Road Pumping Station 94 - <Duplicate> 96 - 1940s Slatley Road Police Station 97 - Grange Road West looking up towards Grange Mount 98 - Birkenhead Central Libarary on Borough Road 99 - Bebington Rd, New Ferry. 100 - Bouncing Bicycles - New Brighton Tower Grounds 101 - 1958 Oak and Eldon Gardens in birkenhead the site know occpys the Job Centre Plus and hordan house on Price Street. 102 - Birkenhead Park you can see the Boathouse in the Back Ground. 103 - Hamilton Square in birkenhead. Picture probaly taken from Town Hall. 104 - Hamilton Square again. Picture taken probaly from one of the Buildings near Hamilton street going down towards HSBC Bank. 105 - Birkenhead Park the bridge you see is know back as a Replica so you can Cross the Swiss Bridge. 106 - Picture from the Swiss bridge which is know reopen again. 107 - 1948 Old Bidston Road Our Ladys school know occupys this Site. 108 - Cammel Lairds, Birkehead 1961 liverpool water front can be seen in the distance.. 109 - This is Rock Lane West in Rock Ferry You can see the Railway bridge and on the Corner is Wirral Tool Hire (the gate on the left) 110 - Slatey Road in Birkenhead this is Looking Towards the Walker Art Gallery... 111 - This is the Penny Bridge in birkenhead this Bridge no Longer charges a Penny but it got its name after the Owners put the Price from ha'penny to a penny. 112 - This is Duke Street bridge looking towards Birkenhead Park early 1920s 113 - Duke Street birkenhead 1948 114 - 1900's Village road in Oxton 115 - Woodside Ferry Terminal 1950 116 - Old Chester Road in Birkenhead 1959 Start you off with some easy ones $\:\)$ Picture 1. Picture 2. Picture 3.
