Will be cheaper in the long run to get a 2ltr lump out of a mondeo. 136bhp from a standard pefectly set up zetec engine with more torque than you'd get from a moddified 1.8 [/b]Rob save ya breath mate Iv told him a thousand times, of all people I should know but I guess 1st hand experiance isnt enough for him. lowered now eh? looks better.
Did i say DO NOT GET A 2.0?? no,i said get the 130 spec parts and u will see more power, thats alleven if its only a couple of BHP itll cost u 20 quid from a scrappy, and id rather spend 20 quid on 130 parts than over 3 times that on a 57i which will more than likely see u less BHP than u started with.
A 2.0 is better,no doubt,but some people are happy with the 1.8s power,especially the 130 spec 1.8

with the car being of the right age (ECU is not the immobiliser unit also) that means u cud slap in an XR3 ECU,and the 130 spec stuff and genuinely get a 25BHP gain, then go zorst, filter, see how u like it then??

If your not after a 2.0 then I suggest scoops aproach, 130spec parts (MAF, TB, ECU, Cams) other than this your looking at spending money with no real upgrade (In terms of bhp per £)

Budget £100ish mate, and I suggest a Ford forum or the local scrappy (Altho a scrappy might not give you them as it leaves the engine incomplete and non-sellable)

Ford forums mate, the likes of www.escortevolution.com/forums and www.ford-force.com About 100 pound is right, the cams MAF housing and TB can be from a 2.0 mondie zetec, but it has to be an XR3130 ECU,i think the MAF sensor may have to be 130 spec,if it differs from the 2.0 is voltages,i know u always want the correct MAF sensor for the ECU tho

Sted you'd need to take them to a garage (Cams at least). The MAF and TB are easy, as is the ECU

unless ur great with cambelts matey we cant do them on the drive, cos ive never done a cambelt myself, altho i know what to do and where to do it,if we mess up slightly u WILL ruin the engine.MAF is just 2 jubilees,TB is about 4 stardrives and 1 jubilee, and ECU is just a wiring plug removal,it may be rivetted to the wall of the car but thats nothin a drill wont beat
