Council announces Christmas car parking discounts Wirral Council is supporting shoppers and local businesses by cutting the cost of parking in council car parks throughout most of December. From December 9, all Council-operated car parks are operating a ‘Free After 3’ discount, giving residents and visitors the chance to go Christmas shopping without paying to park. As well as parking being ‘Free After 3’, people will be able to park for ‘Free All Day’ at any Council-operated car parks on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Humbug lol Read More : click me

i don't know if it's them being nice, or if they don't want to pay parking attenders/monitors/officers to check
part of me thinks it's a bit of both to be honest.

Went to Burly Dam nursery and you can guess where all the shoppers with cars were parked for free, it was mad busy and father Xmas was a two hour wait, Liscard and old Birkenhead no chance, rather be shopping at new Birkenhead, the Croft at Bromborough, it was mad busy with shoppers and cars parking for FREE, it's even cheaper to go to Ellesmere Port, 50p two hours and all year free parking after 3.00pm.

Exactly ! They've cut their snivelling noses off... too late for the businesses they should be supporting.

I dont mind paying in liverpool though, the Qpark is stupid expensive but the roads up by seel&parr street are like 4 quid for all day and that's what i do with crlhristmas shopping, can buy slightly heavier and bigger things as i can store them in the car and still walk round, saves lumbering everything round.
Also costco/toys r us has a free car park which is a little out the way but still free if you don't fancy the 10 minute walk into the town centre. Besides i always call into costco anyway, love just browsing but still end up buying stuff haha
