This is a memorial plaque on Shrewsbury station. All of the place names I can locate, except one. Anyone know where Easton Court is? Three quarters of the way down, second column. All the others are, with a couple of exceptions, on the line between Hereford and Wirral. (Including "Birkenhead Extension", which is the dock branch).
Corner of Bebington Rd. and King's Lane? Can't help, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a cinema. "The Silver Screens of Wirral" doesn't mention it, and it lists cinemas earlier than this building (it didn't exist on the 1912 O.S. map). It's just a few doors away from the old Regal cinema (1938 - 1970), now Tesco's. Interesting building with some nice decorative brickwork. I'm sure someone will know.
It's got the look of a 1930's era co-op about it. Maybe that's what it was before Tesco's arrived nearby. Just a guess. Someone who lives/lived local must know.
Yes, of course, Irwin's always had ornate shop fronts. Irwin's was a chain of grocers, local to Liverpool I think, They were taken over by Tesco I think.
