Hi! I need to buy a new mattress for my bed, (the one I've got is knackered, and so am I! ) I'm looking for top quality brands, and good value for money, but I don't know where it would be best to look first. Can any of you lovely, well-informed Wikiwirralians recommend a good place to start my search please?

I bought a memory foam mattress a few years ago from Makro and it has been really comfortable, and appears to have loads of wear left in it, so I recommend Memory Foam for your new mattress.

Thanks very much for your replies, I'll keep both suggestions in mind. But to be more specific, I was thinking more along the lines of sellers/vendors. My Dad said that a mattress warehouse would give the best value for money, but doesn't know where any are, (helpful!) So I was wondering if anyone on here knows, or can recommend a good store/supplier. Thanks for reading!

Have you tried groupon? There is a silent night memory foam mattress on there was £379 now £179. Or £219 for a king size

For example; the mattress on the Groupon offer is the same 3 zone memory foam mattress on the Silentnight website in the link in my post above, where it's £151.20 with next day delivery. Tesco sell the pillows for only £11.50 for the pair. Always have a quick search on Google Shopping before buying through Groupon. That being said, I am tempted by the PS3 12Gb for £134 that's on Groupon today

Re Rocks "not sure if they are still open but there was a unit behind Asda in Brombrough where i got mine years ago and he was very reasonable, its always worth a look around them units for a bargain" He is still there and he always seems willing to do a deal. I have bought a few things from him and I was looking at some bedroom stuff on Saturday. It seems to have expanded and he has three piece suites and dining units. It is called Bromborough Sofas and Beds.

Thank-you all for your good advice! I've bought my new mattress now. I went shopping yesterday, visiting The Bed Factory in Bridge street first. While I liked the feel of 3 mattresses there, 2 were brands I'd never heard of, (both £119,) and the third, a "Sealy Orthopaedic", wasn't available in single size. I took notes however, then went up to Bromborough. The place that I remembered has moved to much smaller premises, but I still found a mattress I liked, a "Bedmaster Luxury Orthopaedic", £130 with delivery. And it was delivered around 3:30pm today! How's that for quick service?! Ahh, I will sleep like a baby tomorrow...
