Hi, New here and not really sure if this post is in the right section but here goes.
We live in a house built around the 1910-1920 era. Just wondered where we would need to look to find out some historical information about the property?
I assume that the council would have records of original planning applications and any subsequent alterations but not sure where to start. Any help appreciated

If you go to the reference library at Earlston, they have the Gores and Kellys Directories for Wallasey and they will show you who lived in your house!

This photo was taken from the corner of Lyndhurst Rd and Rolleston Drive and shows the view looking down Rolleston Drive towards Grove Road.

Interesting Picture PaulWirral - thanks for posting.
You can just see our house at the far end of the road on the right.
The street hasn't changed that much looking at the picture, still very recognisable.

Moonstar,
Do you mean the house on Rolleston Drive itself ( No 1) or the house that backs on to Rolleston in the picture but is actually in Grove Road? (now a retirement home)

Wirral Archives have copies of building plans for Wallasey dating back to the 1870s; they don't have a complete set but it's possible the one for your house may have survived. If you email a request to them, giving as many details as you can, at [email protected] they should be able to look for it for you, and if it still exists provide you with a copy, either hard-copy or by email, for a small charge.
