we have a deposit with whitegates for our house and i am wondering if it is possible to have the deposit which is held by the Deposit Protection Scheme transferred to another estate agents instead of havng to wait to get the money back from them.

Doesn't deposit normally go to your solicitor/conveyor, not the estate agent? Wouldn't trust an estate agent with my shoe lace!

We've recently had dealings with DPS. They will only release the deposit once the landlord or agent has agreed to. You will have to find another deposit and then claim the other back.
