More tax on fuel, just as prices had dropped and seemed to settle.... Extra 2p per litre added to UK fuel pricesNo, it isn’t another attempt at an April Fools' Day gag - the price of fuel has risen by 2p per litre as government tax increases come into force today.
Speaking about the latest tax rises, a spokesperson for the Treasury said; 'Oil prices are far lower now compared to the peaks seen last year, and we have seen significant reductions in the price of fuel at the pumps over recent months. Fuel duty in the UK still remains lower today than it was a decade ago.'
As a result of the increase in duty, drivers will now pay around £1 extra every time they fill up their tanks and the hardship might not stop there. The next budget announcement due on 22 April could outline further increases.
Thieving .... I bet the extra money raised goes towards housing immigrants, or even worse, housing MPs....

Don't think the prices have settled, they seem to have sneakily risen back to the 90+p mark again.

Sainsbury's Upton was 91.9p this morning (was 89.9p yesterday). I did notice the Shell opposite hadn't budged from 88.9p though...
