The 3rd or 4th picture on post #268398 is the new wind turbine. I can see it from mine - it almost appeared overnight. I'm just waiting for them to start lifting the propellars - will be amazing to watch. Fantastic pictures mate I may have to go and have a look round this week.

Hi I am trying to find details of my Gt Gt Grandfather, James Anderson, who was stationed on Fort Perch Rock in 1841 and 1851 (according to the Census). There seems to be reports that The 4th Cheshire Company of Artillery Volunteers were stationed there and there is also reference to the 46th Regiment. Unfortunately his birthplace is only noted as 'Scotland' in both Census Records so do you think I can get more details from Army Records (such as exactly where he was born) and if so where could I find them !!!

You could try ancestry.co.uk and there are many army record sites, bit of a mine field really and most of them will cost you money.

It turns out my Gt Gt Grandfather was born only 8 miles from where we live now ! We moved here 30 years ago from Chester with no idea he was born so close, really spooky ! Anyway if you want Richards details check out his web site, he really did a great job and he specialises in Army Records. Richard Moles Web SIte HERE
