I see that the HRGO Customer Service jobs are being advertised - AGAIN - on the Jobcentreplus site.

Has anybody had any dealings with this agency? If so, what are your thoughts? Did you manage to get a job through them?

When you see an agency repeatedly advertise the same job, you start to wonder . . .
I used to work through this agency for a company called the contact company, they only deal with the contact company and thats what this advertisment is about if you want a quick fix unreliable job then go for it, otherwise i would steer well clear, put it one way they called me at 11am on 'let me go' when i was due for a shift at 12pm.

They win awards for employing loads of people but this is because they sack hundreds at once for no reason.
Happened to alot of people i know, you dont get a contract or any stability, not to mention there unrealistic and strict rules, including 10 mins during a 12 hour shift for toilet breaks, its tedious. Rant over lol : )
what sort of job are you looking for?
Hi Janine my daughter works for connect for four weeks now how long did you last b4 thye sacked you and what did they give as a reason
My girlfriend worked for them a few months ago, they dont actually sack anyone as that would not be allowed. But what they do is give people who cant get a job a contract that states a minimum of a weeks work and maximum of 24 weeks.

So basically they use them whenever they want becuase they know that there are so many young people out there struggling to find jobs and cant turn away the extra money but without giving them a permanent job!

Stay well away...
she had to take anything as she was almost eight months out of university witout being able to find a job..she got a 2.1 honours in english but unable to get work..£15,000 in debt now from university..so much for the benefit of a university education
I also used to work for the contact company through HRGO too and the same thing happened to me janine they rung me up the night before i was due in at 8 in the morning and told me not to go in the next day as they were letting alot of people go the job is very unreliable they employ you for a few months then let you go with very little warning.
my daughter started working for them 6 weeks ago and she loves it put the hours in she comes home with a decent wage for a 19 year old they dont employ on a perminent but thats just away around employment laws and thats the way most firms work now adays one of the reasons people come and go there so quickly as there not up to the job its better than being unemployed doing nothing so think its wrong to say stay clear jobs are hard to come by so give it a go if you dont like it then leave might not suit every one but least you tried good luck

From what I understand, this company used to operate under the name "Staffsign", and so terrible was their reputation for all manner of reasons, they changed it. That in itself speaks volumes...

My mate works at the "Contact Company" on behalf of the BBC. Not sure which agency they use (I know it's not direct through the BBC, it's a call centre operation they are outsourcing), but her job seems pretty stable and fair.
my niece worked for them and was promised the world, so to speak, only to find out through a colleagues status on facebook that her entire section had been finished up. Give them a very wide berth!!
Currently on my 2nd week working at the contact company, and I'm just glad that I have money coming in again, it's easy money taking phone calls and is over minimum wage at £6.15ph and you get an hours lunch, and plenty of overtime if required. It all depends on the campaign you are given and when it ends and they do have reasons for letting people go, like a lot of 20+ acting like 5 year olds and not taking it seriously, they will learn when there job is up soon, just abide by the rules and you could have job stability. Take it from someone who has been constantly looking for work with no success. I am also registered wit hays and have had hardly any work with them, so register with as many agencies as you can you are bound to get something and keep applying for jobs. I'm still applying while I'm working, gonna get anything I can. Good luck give it a try.
Glad its not just me who has had bad dealings well in fact i knew i wasnt alone. They sack or 'lay off' hard working people who are good at there job, if your face dont fit then you do not stand a chance with this company. and crazukoi over my work experience i have never been treated so poorly there are decent people to work for and pay decent wages, yes they are hard to find but the contact company is rediculous and treat people like utter crap id be careful.
Sounds like its part of that scheme where they get government money for getting people in work, the more they shift around the more money they make. I may be wrong of course but it just looks like it. One of them is up for fraud, A4e I think it's called, only a bloody millionairess on it that's all.
I have worked for them for over a year and i must admit as far as agency go they are ok. If you keep your head down and do your job you are ok, if you act up they will get rid of you.

Nothing to do with it mate, sorry. They are a genuine employment agency, nothing more, nothing less (no matter how shady they may seem).
That is disgusting! So does this agency just play people along then, giving them a bit of transient work, then finish them up, then take them on again transiently etc?

Can't understand why it's always in the jobcentre, though.
That is terrible. Why are they allowed to get away with treating people so shabbily? And why does the jobcentre continue to allow them to advertise these transient, dodgy jobs?
I have heard contrasting stories on here about HR GO and The Contact Company. Don't know what to believe.

What IS really the case, and what isn't?
I guess it sounds like the decent workers get on okay, the arsy/unreliable ones get shafted??

If you need a job, surely it's worth a go, never achieve anything if ya don't try.
